Weekly Recommendation
What happened yesterday in Minneapolis was horrific. There will be more protests, more meetings, more activism opportunities in the coming days, weeks. Don’t feel bad if you are unable to participate all the time or even some of the time. Some can’t take time off work, others are sick, some have limited mobility. There are many ways to support efforts remotely, at home (see guide above). For those looking ways to support Immigrant communities in Minneapolis, check out this guide.
That said, the folks in Minneapolis are an inspiration to all. I had the chance to visit Minneapolis back in 2024 and was touched by how amazingly warm and friendly the people I met there. Seeing all the videos of resilient people in the streets, sub-zero temperatures and rallying to support vulnerable communities through protests, food drives/shopping, donations, and more motivates me to do more of what I can, how I can, and whenver I can, and I hope they do the same for you.
If you don’t do it for others, do it for yourself. You will meet some amazing people through volunteering, protests, donation drives, art communities and more.
Here is a video of Alex Pretti honoring a veteran he cared for.
