Update: Most kegs have been tapped in the Bay Area, only a handful remain. Unless you have time, are willing to travel and/or have a flexible schedule, your best bet is to go to the Russian River brewery/taproom once they tap their kegs as the few remaining spots that are left below will likely have insane crowds as many either waited too long to try Pliny The Younger or were slow to find out about it.

Where To Get Pliny The Younger Bay Area 2026

When places announce tapping, I will post the dates (and times when provided) below (updated multiple times a day). The list below will not contain every place, but it will contain many places across the 9 Bay Area counties (and a few beyond in Sacramento and Santa Cruz areas)
Allotments vary from year to year. As with this hectic time, most places don’t release schedules more than 1 week out, others within a few days, a few within hours and some will do a surprise tapping without posting it online anywhere.
On top of that, some places have been known to kick kegs after 30 minutes of tapping, others have been unable to serve people if they arrive exactly at tapping time (long lines), and others require advance tickets, beer flights or raffle.
One place may serve pints (will note it below), most will serve small 6-10 ounce pours and a few may only serve it alongside flights (mixed with other beers unfortunately). Another place is low key and known to have it the next day and beyond. One place had an amazing deal for the early customers (not sure if they are doing it again in 2026).
Edit: I have seen one place offer it through a paired lunch… $$$ 👀
I will update this list regularly, so check back often (see timestamp above). I will post the scheduled tapping times (in addition to dates) if provided. Always check day of to confirm days/times as they may change (super rare but has happened at least once).

Fastest keg kicked that I have seen is 32 minutes; I have seen several kegs still available into the next day, but don’t count on it. I would estimate 65% kicked in 2-5 hours, 80% by end of day and <20% into the next day. It depends on when the keg is tapped (how early in the month, nearby locations, day/time it is tapped and what the conditions of the sale are i.e. price, flights, tickets, limits etc.

March 20th-April 2nd, 2026: Russian River pubs (Santa Rosa & Windsor)
Draft & Bottles
Russian River to distribute kegs to accounts starting first week in February
Draft accounts only to receive kegs (no bottles sold outside of RR pubs)
Most will tap them immediately, and some will tap them later in the month (festivals, beer week), but I imagine most are gone in the middle of February here in the Bay Area.
Pliny The Elder: Double IPA available year-round
Pliny The Younger: Triple IPA available for about 6 weeks a year (see above)

Most places announce tappings within days, if not hours or seconds, so check back often. See schedule below as well with day/time last updated. Some don’t even announce it at all. Many establishments note the days only and no tapping time in advance. Check with establishments the day of, as some tappings may change last minute (pretty rare but non-zero chance).
