Oakland’s Jack London Square is one of the more underrated neighborhoods in the Bay Area. It took a hit during the pandemic, with shutdowns of amazing places like Beer Revolution and a slowdown of shows at Yoshi’s, but things are back and vibrant as ever.
There was a lot of turnover in the last 4 years but several new places have made it a very exciting time to visit. A lot of folks asked me about places to explore and things to do without a car and ways to escape the city gray summer vibes so here you go.
It’s usually on the warmer side (more so than SF) and features lots of walkable space in a condense area filled with waterfront parks, industrial buildings and more.
Below are some of my favorite things to do, see, explore and eat in the area and some places to stop along the way and back.
