Best Restaurants, Bars, Breweries, Things To Do Near Oakland BART Stations

Oakland is one of my favorite cities. I was born in Oakland, and even though I don’t live there, I try to find any excuse to make it out there. Compared to San Francisco, it has more diversity, space, breweries, better weather and great vibes.

Much of what Oakland has to offer is easily accessible via one of several major BART stations in the city. Below is my rough guide on maximizing your time in town catching a show, concert, day on the lake or some sunshine.
Breweries are opening up or moving to Oakland from San Francisco. San Francisco restaurants are opening additional locations across the Bay Bridge. Restaurants are taking risks and doing some creative things out here without as much fear thanks to more flexibility.
