Oakland Bars & Restaurants To Go Solo

Last updated: November 8, 2024

As a dating coach for men and women, I work with clients to balance online and offline efforts to meet people. I was born in Oakland and although I live in San Francisco, I do find any excuse to make it across the Bay for food, drinks and good vibes and weather.

Learning to dine alone is a great way to make friends, meet new people. It’s also easier to find a seat vs trying to find a table for two or more.

For solo dining in SF, check out this guide.

In addition to these places, you may want to check out my weekly email newsletter with things to do each week from pop-ups, classes, talks, live music, festivals, street fairs and more. It’s free and comes out once a week.

For those that are looking for some additional curated guides, check out my guide on things to do, see, eat, drink and experience along BART stations in Oakland. It’s a great source for those without a vehicle and want to explore places around Uptown/Downtown Oakland, Rockridge, Temescal, Jack London Square and more.

Best Bars & Restaurants For Solo Drinks, Dining In The East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda & Beyond)

Oakland and the East Bay has some amazing bars and restaurants that can hold their own against San Francisco yet they don’t always get the praise they deserve but that has started to change in the past few years especially.

When it comes to social environments, cool vibes, Oakland cannot be beat. It’s one of my favorite cities and for those looking to go out alone or go explore, I made this list. From communal tables, bar seats and fun environments, these are some of my favorite bars and restaurants to venture off solo, meet friends and possible romantic interests.

As with all my guides, I add detail, organize recommendations and make updates based on interest from you, the readers.
