Weekly Recommendation
This week’s recommendation is to go listen to one of my favorite albums from a Bay Area band in Azabache. Co-founder, Ray Martinez (in red below, on timbales) passed away recently and is survived by his brother Manny Martinez (in black below, lead vocals). Together, their album, originally released in 2000, turned everyone’s heads as their funky beats, combined with smooth vocals, made it impossible not to get up to dance and sing to their seductive salsa sounds. Thank you, Ray, rest in peace.
