San Francisco Bay Area Businesses Closing 1/30 For The National General Strike: Oakland & Beyond, National Day of Action; Economic Blackout January 30, Protests
I work at Dog Eared Books in the Mission District in SF and want to report that we will be donating 25% of Friday’s profits to a fund or organization working to support on the ground community defense against ICE - exact organization TBD
Hello! Friday’s Ska Punk Night at 924 Gilman is still on, supporting a community all-ages venue and three Bay Area bands: Monkey, Day Labor, and Jokes for Feelings. Ska punk has always been actively antiracist and pro worker! Bring cash to keep the fat cats out of the equation.
I am aware of the sacrifice made when choosing to close and also the pressure to follow others. I thought about this carefully before I started to put this together as many businesses participated last strike, or do some amazing things without much press coverage.

Thank you! I will update once the info is publicized but will keep this comment here in the meantime!
Fillory Yarn in San Jose is closed as well! Props to everyone on the list
Added, thanks!
I’m the owner of Upper Floor Studio with locations in Santa Clara and Cupertino and we will also be closed.
Thanks Sheila, added to my list!
