A few people have asked me about more places to donate clothes beyond the Salvation Army and Goodwills of the world. This is a super rough guide; I will update it with more in the coming days now that the days are shorter, colder and rainier. If you have a suggestion for a guide that would be useful for the community, please let me know.

Where To Donate Clothes San Francisco Bay Area
Places that accept clothing for men, women and kids. Places with more specific gender/age requirements, below.
City Team (various): hygiene, new socks, new & gently used clothing & blankets
SOMA, San Francisco, Monday-Saturday, 9-3pm
Downtown Oakland, Monday – Saturday, 8–4pm
San Jose, Tue – Fri, 10–12pm & 1–3pm; Sat 1pm–3pm
Places To Donate Clothes San Francisco
St Anthony’s, Tenderloin: new & gently-used clothing
Mon-Sat, 10-4pm except 11/27-29 and 12/25-27
Community Thrift, Mission District: Clean, gently used adult & childrens’ clothing & shoes. Sales from donations go to local charities i.e. Women’s Building, Homeless Prenatal Program
7 days a week, 10-5pm except holidays
North Beach Citizens: All clothes but especially: men’s casual pants, jeans, and sweatpants, sneakers, comfortable shoes & warm outerwear
b/t 9am-12pm, or 1pm-4pm Monday through Friday
UCSF Voc Rehab: contact to schedule drop off
Mostly need men’s pants, shoes, sweaters & jackets; women’s sweaters, jackets. Don’t need dress clothes, dresses, high heel shoes, party clothes. Can use new socks & underwear, but not underwear nor tank tops.

Dress For Success, Union Square, San Francisco: Women’s business suits and ‘appropriate separates’, jewerly, bags, makeup, accessories & more
Appt needed during monthly drives.
Bay Area Women’s & Children’s Center, Civic Center, San Francisco
Women’s tops: blouses, sweaters, shirts, onesies, slacks, jeans, Shorts, leggings; shoes (no flipflops); hats, beanies, gloves, scarves
