Weekly Recommendation
This week’s recommendation is to keep up the pressure. To those who supported or joined in their local No Kings protests (marched, made signs, spread the word, cheered on folks throughout the day, liking posts on social media), thank you.
It’s great to show the huge crowds but it’s also just as important to keep pressure on in whatever capacity you can regularly, whether it is donating to causes, or volunteering your time to local organizations, or boycotting local companies (Tesla, Salesforce & Airbnb) or letting folks know what you did & where you are going, so they know people around them are taking action.
It’s exhausting, it’s a marathon, but it’s desperately needed. I find the energy to get out there from the surrounding crowds (especially elderly, veterans, kids, those with American flags, & those who have difficulty moving around), bumping into friends, neighbors & local business owners, or talking to strangers who are learning about things for the first time.
Sharing resources, posting links on social media etc., making calls/attending meetings with Indivisible SF - it all helps.
Not sure how you can help? Send me a note (link above). I’ve volunteered at numerous organizations, I’ve attended various events, and I can help you find a cause you are passionate about.
