Dating In San Francisco - Where To Meet Men, Women
Dating in San Francisco can be brutal. Lots of people are tired of dating apps. Women complain about not being approached offline in the city, dealing with low-effort men, and liars. Men complain about women being unapproachable (surrounded by friends), think they will go viral (in a bad way) if they approach a woman offline or women have too many options, so why even bother.
It doesn’t have to be that way. Dating apps can be useful, but only when used sparingly and with some self-awareness. There are lots of opportunities to meet people offline and in person in San Francisco without the use of apps, matchmakers, date-me-docs, speed dating, and singles events. But if you need help figuring out which to choose, let’s talk.
I’ve been interviewed by Bumble, NYT, WSJ and more about my work helping singles in San Francisco and beyond (over 10 yeras) about making friends, expanding hobbies, navigating apps, taking better photos, marketing themselves more effectively, working on social skills, learning to cut off time-wasters more quickly and more. See my dating services here (offline & online).
Below are some of my recommendations to meet singles whether you are new in town and don’t know many people, are over 40, don’t drink/hate bars, or are recently single, are a bit shy or don’t know where to begin.

In my coaching sessions, I curate lists for clients to explore based on age, orientation, lifestyle, personality etc. as well as where to sit, when to go, what to order, how to stick out, and how to facilitate natural, organic conversations.
For those who need extra help, I will assess things like posture, facial expressions, eye contact, wardrobe, hygiene, body language, vocal intonation, lifestyle choices, hobbies, first impressions, decision-making and personality.
Be sure to read this post on how to get approached more often in person/IRL.

Read this guide before talking to any matchmaker. Learn what to ask, fine print in contracts and common mistakes people make when hiring them.
They are professional salespeople who will tell you everything you want to hear, but rarely are brutally honest with you. Many don’t have business listings to leave reviews, those that do often are filled by friends, family members, clients who attended events or did not pay to retain services.
Singles Events San Francisco, Speed Dating Events SF
I am not a big fan of singles events; they feel super awkward, forced and lazy. Anyone can create an event listing on Eventbrite and call it a singles event. Most organizers don’t do this full-time nor have any business listings from which to hold them accountable for (reviews on Yelp or Google).
The biggest red flags are events with no focus, inability to see how many people have rsvp’d or better yet paid for tickets, are held at sus locations and venues or use stock photos for their ticketing and marketing pages.
